Our story
Started with one crew in Van Nuys. Still built the same way.
In 2009 our founder was a finish carpenter who kept getting called back to fix other people's framing. Art Life Builders grew out of a simple idea: the crew that promises the work should be the crew that does it.
Seventeen years later we're a team of 34 — project managers, carpenters, estimators and an in-house design group — working across Los Angeles · Orange County · San Diego · Riverside. We still cap our active project count so every job gets a manager who knows your name and your floor plan.
We build residential and commercial equally: a Pasadena kitchen and a Downtown LA tenant improvement run through the same estimating desk, the same safety standards and the same written weekly updates.

Bond & insurance
$25,000 contractor's bond, $2M general liability and full workers' compensation. Certificates naming you as additional insured are issued before we mobilize.
W-2 core crew
Our carpenters and project managers are employees, not day labor. Every subcontractor we bring on carries their own license and insurance.
Written warranty
One year on finishes and fixtures, ten years on structural workmanship, in writing with your closeout package.
